DUMBARTON CASTLE REOPENS
Dumbarton Castle and the Rock that it dramatically stands on reopened to visitors. It had been closed for some time due to both Covid and ongoing intensive maintenance.
The Rock Of Ages event will NOT be held this summer, but there will be an event called
Visiting Vikings on Saturday 13 May 2023 to Sunday 14 May 2023
Dumbarton Rock was besieged several times by the Vikings. This weekend the raiders, traders and invaders have returned! Come along to the castle and meet some Viking warriors, find out more about their weapons and invasion techniques. Listen to a Viking saga and discover what life was like for these seafaring Norsemen.
