HONEY MUSHROOM : Armillaria mellea
CAUTION : Don't confuse this one with the similar looking toxic SULPHUR TUFT MUSHROOM
Wikipedia tells us : Armillaria mellea, commonly known as honey fungus, is an edible basidiomycete fungus in the genus Armillaria. It is a plant pathogen and part of a cryptic species complex of closely related and morpholically similar species. It causes Armellaria root rot in many plant species and produces mushrooms around the base of trees it has infected.
Note that description - a cryptic species complex of closely related and morpholically similar species. It can be easily confused with similar fungi / mushrooms.
