PELARGONIUM
Wiki tells us that : Pelargonium is a genus of flowering plants that includes about 280 species of perennials, succulents, and shrubs, commonly called geraniums, pelargoniums, or storksbills. Geranium is also the botanical name and common name of a separate genus of related plants, also known as cranesbills. Both genera belong to the family Geraniaceae.
We all know pelargoniums, also referred to as geraniums, from gardens, perhaps even on your own window cill.
Red pelargoniums looking fairly fresh even as the indigenous plants die back as the cold weather settles in. These are just a few of those dumped over a garden wall in Alexandria and which then thrived next to the Leven towpath.
