COMMON GULL /MEW : Larus canus

It is much smaller than the others mentioned above, but can be readily identified. Its bill is much finer and lack the red spot of herring gulls. The legs are pale green-yellow. Common gulls sometimes nest on buildings. Large numbers of common gulls migrate into Scotland from Scandinavia in winter.
