TULLICHEWAN SOUTH LODGE, ALEXANDRIA
ACCESS : This is now a private residence.
Listed B.
Almost hidden from view behind a high wall, but glimpsed across a gate is this remnant of TULLICHEWAN CASTLE (discussed separately). This was the south lodge of the castle.
It was deigned by Robert Lugar sometimes in the early 19th century. It is a single storey buidling described as Tudor-gothic in style. It is very distinctive. It is parapeted all round including the front gable. That gable and the sharp bay window, itself parapeted, are also castellated.
