• Dywedodd hefyd bod presenoldeb Heddlu wedi bod yng Nghapel Iwan yn ddiweddar a bod y mater yn parhau ond nid oedd yn fater a ddylai achosi pryder i drigolion y pentref.

• Llythyr nawdd Eisteddfod Genedlaethol 2026 rhanbarth CNE - Dywedodd y Cyng. Helen Williams bod rhaid cefnogi ond faint yw’r cwestiwn. Awgrymwyd aros a meddwl am faint i gyfrannu.
• Llythyr o ddiolch wrth CFfI Capel Iwan am y cyfraniad diweddar.
• Llythyr wrth y Gofrestrfa Tir Hawl Tramwy Gorsaf Meteorolegol Capel Iwan.

• Flat Wood, Cenarth - trafodwyd y mater eto a cytunwyd bod defnydd yr ardal yn hollol annerbyniol. Dywedodd y Cyng. Ken Howell y dylid gofyn am gopi o adroddiad o’r dwy flynedd cyntaf.

• Dywedwyd bod yr heol heibio Cruglwyd yn wael.
• Dywedodd y Cyng. Don Griffiths nad oedd y gwter ger Ardwyn wedi’i wneud na’r gwteri o flaen y tai ger y fynwent.
• Dywedwyd bod yr heol rhwng Cwm Morgan i Godremamog yn wael a bod coed ar draws yr heol a bod gwifrau’r ffôn i lawr.

Cenarth Community Council Meeting

Minutes of the meeting held at the Hall, Capel Iwan on ddydd Iau, 1af o Ebrill 2025 at 7pm.

PRESENT: In the Chair -Cllr. Pat Thomas and Hywel Bowen, Cynghorwyr, Meurig Thomas, Don Griffiths, Nigel Williams, Jeff Kedward PCSO, Helen Williams, William Davies, Cyng. Hazel Evans, Anthony John, Philip Gibbons. Clerc - Manon Thomas Cooper.

APOLOGIES: Cllr. Ken Howell and Richard James.

DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST: None

POLICE:  

• Jeff Kedward PCSO said that he had now marked the motorbikes of Cllr.Richard James and Meurig Thomas.
• He also said that there had been a Police presence at Capel Iwan recently and that the issue was ongoing but it was not an issue that should cause concern for the residents of the village.

5. MINUTES:  Minutes for the February 2025 meeting were proposed by Cllr. Helen Williams and Seconded by Cllr. Don Griffiths.

6. MATTERS ARISING FOR MINUTES:

• 6.B-1 / JUL - Defibrillator - Cllr Nigel Williams and Don Griffiths said that they have been down in Cwm Morgan to check the machines and that the pads expire on the 1st of January 2027 and they said that the battery is also fine.
• 10.A-4/NOV - Penrheol Isaf Road to Derlwyn - No update
• 10.A-1/JUN - Pothole on Hendy turning - No update.
• 10.A-1/FEB - Water on Bryngolau turn - No update.
• 10.B-9/MAY - Tarmac at back of the Hall - No update.
• 10.E-9/MAY - Road from Cwm Morgan to Glyncoch - No update. Cllr said. Philip Gibbons that it is a problem as delivery vans cannot arrive. Cllr. Pat Thomas that there is also a problem with the bridge in Cwm Morgan.
• 10.A-3/OCT - Water from Bwlchcaebrith to Blaendyffryn - No update.
• 10.C-3/OCT - Path by the Hall - Cllr Helen Williams said that it is dangerous to walk there at night. It was agreed that this should be done at the same time as the car park.
• 10.A-7/NOV - Coed Llwybr Godremamog - No update.
• 10.A-7/JAN - Cenarth Sign - It was agreed that Cllr. Hazel Evans would contact the County Council to inform them about the sign.
• 10.E-7/JAN - Capel Iwan Square Sign - The Chairman stated that the sign had come and they were shown to the Councilors and it was agreed that they were suitable. Cllr Meurig Thomas said that a fairly strong post is needed to withstand the wind in order to hold them.

7. CORRESPONDENCE:

• Letter of sponsorship National Eisteddfod 2026 NCE region - Cllr. Helen Williams said that support should be given but how much is the question. It was suggested to wait and think about how much to contribute.
• Letter of thanks to Capel Iwan YFC for the recent contribution.
• Letter to the Land Registry Right of Way Meteorological Station Capel Iwan.

8. PLANNING: None

Flat Wood - the matter was discussed again and it was agreed that the use of the are was totally unacceptable. Cllr. Ken Howell stated that we should ask for a copy of the report for the first two years.

9. FINANCIAL MATTERS

The Clerk stated that the following payments were made over the past month:

10. MATTERS NEEDING DISCUSSION -

• Cllr Pat Thomas said that there are many potholes on the Cefngwndwn road.
• It was said that the road past Cruglwyd was bad.
• Cllr Don Griffiths said that the gutter near Ardwyn had not been done nor the gutters in front of the houses near the cemetery.
• It was said that the road between Cwm Morgan to Godremamog was bad and that there were trees across the road and that the telephone wires were down.

11. COUNCILLORS’ COMMENTS -

The Chairman welcomed Cllr. Hazel Evans back after a period of illness.

12. NEXT MEETING - The next meeting and AGM will be held on the Thursday, 1st of May. The meeting was closed at 7.50pm.
