William Fraser was a watchmaker in Inverness who established himself as a watchmaker in Demerara, and in 1829 sent 'a large and most splendid collection of Tropical Insects' to the Northern Institution, of which he was a corresponding member [Inverness Courier - Wednesday 03 February 1830].
