James Stewart Alves

James Stewart Alves (1784-1810), late of Demerary, and then of Lugton, Dalkeith, died in November 1810 leaving his property to his mother, Janet Macpherson, and appointing as his executors his brother Henry Scott Alves and both ? Williams and Evan Fraser in Demerary. He left about £300. [SC70/1/8]

He was the son of John Alves, of Dalkieth, chamberlain to the Duke of Buccleugh, and Janet Macpherson.
