Allicock
The history of this family is given in Carmen Subryan, Stories from Our Times (Xlibris, 2016) and in a fictionalised form in a number of her other books.
The family tradition is that the Allicocks originated in Scotland.
R F Allicock registered 29 slaves in 1817 and 2 as representative of Nancy Mansfield. She is probably the Ann Mansfield with whom Allicock had eight children: James, John, Mary, Lucy, Charles, Robert, David and Joseph. He also had a daughter Nancy with an Amerindian woman referred to as ‘the Buckeen Hannah Simon’. [See will of 1822 referred to in the Report of Titles to Land Commissioners.]
