First decide how much of the process you wish to do yourself. Your Veterinary surgeon can carry out the whole process for you. Or, if you wish, you can carry out most of the steps yourself, which should be a slightly cheaper option. 
In either case, please first print off an ‘ISDS Sample Collection Form’ or request a copy from the ISDS office. This form is necessary to confirm that your Vet has obtained the sample and that the Vet has confirmed the dog’s identity chip number. The Society Office will not record the test result for your dog without this completed form
If you decide to do as much for yourself as possible, please follow the steps below:
Decide which laboratory you wish to carry out the test. Do this by searching online for ‘CEA Testing for dogs.’ Note: Both the ‘Haplo’ test and the ‘Optigen DNA’ tests are accepted by the Society.
Request a ‘sample collection kit’ (for either a blood sample or cheek swab), and ‘test submission form/order form’ from your chosen laboratory
Take along to your vet with your Dog:
The Dog’s Registration Certificate
The completed ISDS Sample Collection Form (do not fill in the Vet’s part)
The completed test submission form/order form
The sample collection kit
Your Vet will use the kit to collect the sample. Give the sample a few minutes to dry (if it is a cheek swab) before sealing it in the envelope provided. Place the sample envelope, along with the completed test submission form and your payment in a larger envelope and post it to the laboratory.
Ask your Vet to sign and complete the ISDS Sample Collection form – you must retain this form yourself
When the laboratory result is returned to you, send the result, along with the retained ISDS Sample Collection Form and your dog’s Registration Certificate to the ISDS office. The Society office will update your dog’s records and update the Registration Certificate, which will then be returned to you.

the test result will not be accepted***
