W Young and R Dugmore queried the wording of rules pertaining to the closing of a Nursery trial, the abandoning of a trial, the last booking in time of 1.00, and the points given at a recent trial to the only 12 competitors there.
Rule 11
The trials organisers can call off a trial at any time if there are no dogs left to run.
Rule 12
If the trial is abandoned, points will only be given if 15 or more dogs have run.
Rule 14
Competitors with two dogs must book the first in before 12.00, and all dogs must be booked in by 1.00
The defence of the decisions taken at the trial they are referring to rests on the definition of 'called off' and 'abandoned' and the understanding that rule 14 is for handlers already there, not a commitment to remain prepared to let out and judge up to 1.00 if there are no dogs present left to run.
This will be a matter for the AGM
