Week 33 - Water & Drains
Sorry for the lack of updates but I have misplaced the camera I bought to replace the original one I lost (yes the one Joan gave me for my last BIG birthday). However, the good news is that in searching for the lost replacement camera I found the original wedged under the seat in my car so normal service can resume.
Tuesday 7th AprilJerry continues with the electrical 2nd fix in No.5, but also finds time to help in shifting the heat pumps onto their slabs at the rear of the houses. Also, a big site clean up as we are expecting the site hut to be uplifted in a day or so. | Wednesday 8th AprilJohn McPhee makes a start on the drains and water connections. The drains connect via 4" and 6" pipes to the mains via a disconnecting manhole at the edge of the property. The water connection will use the same trench, and all of this will eventually be covered by a footpath in front of the houses. | | Thursday 9th AprilOur site hut is collected by a 6 ton Hiab crane, which makes light work of the job - once they had managed to get round the corner into Church Street! After 18 months it seems strange not to see it on site any more. | Thursday 9th AprilJohn & Gavin crack on with the drains and by the end of the day they have back-filled almost all the way around the house. They are off now until Tuesday, when they will attend to the disconnecting manhole & the water supply pipes. | | Friday 10th AprilJerry finally gets the electrical wiring completed in No5 - all circuits are now tested and live from the consumer unit. | Friday 10th AprilWith the groundworks guys away, Brian & Shug seize the opportunity to scratch coat the base course all around the houses. | | | | |
