Mike Davies reports....

Celebration of lighting up the Christmas tree at Cadoxton Neath.

Once again this year, the lighting up of the Christmas tree on Cadoxton green was organized by the Green Dragon public house in Cadoxton

It was also a sponsored event, with donations to cover costs of the tree, and  the lighting up of the tree by the residents of the village,

It’s always an event to look forward to in the Christmas calendar as residents of the village get together on the green to sing carols, and the count down to the lighting up of the tree.

This year we even had Rudolph the reindeer with the Ice Maidens to come along and watch the proceedings, while waiting for Father Christmas to arrive.

Father Christmas eventually arrived much to the delight of the children and adults on a tractor driven by his elves.

The night was bitterly cold, but the  large crowd that gathered made it a warm atmosphere, and we all went back to the Green Dragon public house for Mulled wine and a wonderful spread put on by the management and staff.

Merry Christmas to you, and to all our readers.
