Neath September Fair - 2014
Following a long tradition, the Mayor of Neath Port Talbot, Cllr Huw James, officially opened the fun fair on the second Wednesday of September. Alongside the Mayor was Abie Danter, Chairman of the South Wales and Northern Ireland section of the Showmen's Guild of Great Britain. Members of council also attended the event.
The Reverend Canon Stephen Ryan blessed the proceedings.

Leader of Neath Port Talbot Council, Cllr Ali Thomas said: “The Great September Fair is a Neath institution, with a history which can be traced back over 730 years and always an occasion enjoyed by residents and visitors alike”.
The September sun shone as crowds arrived into Neath to enjoy the carnival like atmosphere with stalls selling a variety of merchandise and food.
The fair held at Milland road car park was also enjoyed by all ages.
“The growing stature of the Neath Food & Drink Festival, the recent success of the Real Ale & Cider Festival and of course the September Fair means that Neath is now becoming renowned for hosting popular town centre events”.
