ANOTHER CHESS MOVE

Castell Nedd Chess Club has moved from Cilfrew to Tonna Rugby Club.  The chess club will still meet every Tuesday at 7 p.m. and visitors of all ages and abilities are very welcome.  For the first time the club will also be meeting during the school holidays.

The picture shows winners clutching their trophies at the club’s annual Prize-Giving Ceremony.  Left to right (back) Major Champion – John Davies; Rookie of the Year – Alysson James; Clubman of the Year – Dennis Thomas; (front) Young Player of the Year – Aled Jenkins; Junior Player of the Year and Under 11 Champion (joint) – Catrin Daniels; Under 9 Open Champion – Joel Chung and Under 11 Champion (joint) and Junior Quickplay Champion – Tom Farley.
