Barclays Bank to close their Skewen Branch

Local customers of Barclays Bank have been informed by post that their Skewen Branch will be closing on Friday, 1st August 2014.

Customers will retain their account numbers and will be able to bank at the Neath branch after this date.

Barclays have reminded their customers that they operate a mobile phone, Online and Telephone Banking service.

No doubt there will be comments about the Branch closure on the Readers' Letters page of Neath's discusion website - The Neath Ferret.

Chief executive Antony Jenkins said 1,800 jobs would go in corporate and investment banking and 1,900 across its European retail and business arm as part of a plan to slash costs by £1.7billion. Bonuses will average £54,100 for investment banking staff and £13,300 across the whole bank.
