STAR OF STAGE FINAL 2014


 I'm contacting you in regards to the Star of Stage Final 2014, which will be held on January 18th at the Sherman Theatre, Cardiff.
The event is in its second year and promises to grow even more over the coming years. This year's final sees Connie Fisher and a host of guest judges descending upon the competition to crown the winner.

Star of Stage was launched in 2013 in Cardiff to give budding West End performers a real opportunity to exhibit their ability, passion and potential in the  musical theatre and entertainment Industry, away from the pantomime style of X-Factor and Britain's Got Talent, it can now be classified as the Uk's biggest Professional Musical Theatre Competition. This year, it returned, Bigger Better Bolder, ready for Star of Stage 2014, with West End Star Connie Fisher returning as Head Judge with some very special guests!

Last years 2012/13 competition saw thousands enter from across the country from Aberdeeen to Liverpool, Plymouth to Manchester and as far afield as FRANCE! Last years winner walked away with:

* A £3000 PRIZE POOL INCLUDING A SCHOLARSHIP TO THE CONNIE FISHER SUMMER ACADEMY, RECORDING STUDIO TIME, A PROFESSIONAL PHOTO SHOOT AND TUITION*

Having Sold Out the world famous Coal Exchange, Star of Stage is taking things one step further, with the Final this year being held The Sherman Theatre following its £5.4 Million refurbishment.

The competition has this year expanded its accessibility for performers, with three separate categories: 7-12, 13-17 and for the first time, an 18+ Category, now all being judged individually, to give performers the opportunity to perform in a professional environment with credible judges, a professional crew and thorough critique and feedback. The competition prides itself on developing young artists as opposed to over exposing them, with masterclasses and tuition offered throughout the competition. Auditions were this year held at the Cardiff Masonic Hall on November 16th and the Semi Finals on December 8th in front of packed audiences.

Last years Winner Callum Howells attended the critically acclaimed 'Connie Fisher Academy' last year and has gone on to work on Blue Peter, and has worked with some of the top West End Performers, Directors and Choreographers after recording a Musical Theatre Single, A Professional Promotional Photo Shoot, Private Tuition and a considerable cash prize towards his careeer.

Of the competition, Callum stated: "Being able to have a solo slot in the final showcase was brilliant and it was an amazing opportunity to showcase my performance to agents and industry professionals. Thank you so much for everything, I cannot thank you enough for all of the experiences you have given me."

25 Finalists made it through to gain one of the few spots at this years Grand

Final. Finalists ranging from 9 years of age to 34 years old saw off competition from performers from as far afield as New York, Australia and Dubai.

This year the finalists will compete for a £4000 prize pool including A scholarship to The Connie Fisher Academy ,A Recording Package in London with Auburn Jam Music, £500 cash, A professional photo shoot with Larklight Photography, a performance at The Cardiff Music Festival masterclasses with Mercury Artist Management plus each winner will recieve management from K Talent in London.

Producers have also alluded to an as yet unannounced additional prize, to be announced on the evening of the 18th, which for now is a closely guarded secret.

The final will also feature performances by Classical Star and Star of Stage Judge Claire Delaney and previous Winner Callum Howells.

Judges this year include Connie Fisher, Only Men Alouds David Mahoney, Vocal Coach Legend Louise Ryan and Star of Stage Producers Daniel O'Gorman and Christian Bullen. VIPs and Experts from the world of Theatre, Music, Media and Film will also be in attendance.
