The Walk on Wales concept was devised by two veteran Welsh Guards, Jan Coops and David (Dai) Graham, both of whom served in the Falklands War. Their vision for Walk on Wales is to remember and acknowledge the contribution of the 50 Welsh Guardsmen who have died on active service since the end of World War II, and to create a legacy today for the veterans of tomorrow, by raising £1 million towards support for those affected by Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Each day of the walk was to commemorate one of those 50 fallen soldiers.

Says Schoolhouse Managing Director Mandie Bennett “We chose Walk on Wales as our charity of the year as it’s so close to my heart. My father, Rhodri Morgan, was in the Welsh guards, and he, along with several colleagues, was instrumental in not only promoting the event but was also one of three hardy supporters who completed the entire walk around Wales, a fantastic achievement!
