No.3 Castle Hotel
The Castle Hotel, built in the 17th century, is one of the earliest licensed houses in the Neath district. But in early records, the houses were generally referred to just by the name of the owner or landlord - although there are records that it was originally known as the Ship and Castle Inn. It is located in The Parade Neath, which according to Neath historian, Keith Reed, was once called the Promenade where sailing ships used to moor just opposite.
