This Society was formed 90 years ago and to commemorate the occasion an exhibition will be held at Neath Town Hall on Saturday 28th September 10a.m. to 4p.m. Photographic displays will cover the history of the town streets and pubs, industries of the district, the castle, Neath Abbey, churches and chapels, Briton Ferry, famous people, the Gnoll Estate and Alfred Russell Wallace.
At 2 p.m. the Society will launch its latest publication, Volume 2 of “The Neath Antiquarian”. Volume 1 was described in ‘Morgannwg’ as containing “well researched articles complemented by sharp, evocative illustrations. This is a book whose lavish appearance is matched by the substance of its content.” Volume Two promises to be bigger and better!
Society members will be on hand to answer any queries.
