Traffic concern at Crynant

Resident's Traffic Campaign at Crynant

Following concern about the speed of traffic at Crynant, a resident tells us of an imminent campaign to do something about it.   This is a view shared by residents in several areas who feel that motorists should be made aware of the speed they are travelling at.   It seems that existing standard road signs and markings, which tend to be ignored, should be supplimented by signs that draw attention to the speed of the vehicle like the one shown on the right.   These eye impact signs have found to be very effective in areas where they have been used.

Signs like these are far better than road humps that cause thousands of pounds damage to cars, according to the motor trade.   Not only that, some types of humps have proved to be dangerous when motor cyclists swerve to avoid them.
