CASTELL NEDD CHESS CLUB

Castell Nedd Chess Club which meets every Tuesday evening at Cilffriw Junior School reported a successful first season at their new home. Neither of their teams won promotion but the Emperors were narrowly third in Division Two and the Tribunes finished runners-up in Division Three.

The Netsima Neath & District Open  Under 11 Chess Championships held at Cilffriw School resulted in a tie for first place in the Under 11 section between Catrin Daniels (Alderman Davies') and Tom Farley (Waunceirch).  They share the District Trophy and the Club Championship Trophy for Castell Nedd.  In the Under 9 section Joel Chung, aged 7, was the outright winner
