I am a physiologist by training and used to teach in the Medical School at St Andrews University. I joined Rotary because I wanted to be able to use what time and talents I have to help the local community and beyond. I came to the Howe of Fife to give a couple of talks and then just stayed! The welcome I got was incredibly warm and the club is certainly the friendliest I’ve been to.

In 2009, I helped to set up a charity in Malawi (Chimwemwe Children’s Centre) which helps homeless and disadvantaged children to return to education by buying uniforms and stationery and by giving the children a good meal each day and a safe place to live.  I’m also a keen gardener and cook and enjoy walking and running, completing a sponsored half marathon in the Spring of 2012, which raised over £500.
