About Us
The club meets in The Village Inn in the village of Pitlessie by Cupar in the Kingdom of Fife every Tuesday evening at 5.45pm for 6.15pm.
Our members will guarantee you a friendly warm welcome. Rotarians and friends or partners have an open invitation to visit us if they are in the area.
The Club was chartered in 1990 and today has eight of its founding members out of a current total of 34. Our membership is mainly spread across a dozen villages in the Howe from Newburgh to Falkland to Springfield via Auchtermuchty with a sprinkling of farmers and some Cuparians for added measure. We also have three Honorary Members.
The Club plays an active role in local community life, with our Citizen of the Year award, sponsorship of RYLA, Euroscola, Young Chef and the Primary School Quiz. We also have links with each of the thirteen Community Councils within our area. Our popular Annual Lecture has been given for many years by a wide variety of interesting speakers.
We enjoy our various fundraising activities, which centre on our annual potato sales, which local people look forward to every December. We are strong Foundation supporters and have made significant contributions to local and international charities over the years.
For a relatively small club, we punch well above our weight in the wider Rotary world, having provided a Shelter Box Coordinator, Club Extension Officer, three Assistant Governors and a District Governor from within our membership.
