Join Rotary & Make A World Of Difference

Join Rotary and make a world of difference to your own community, to the lives of those less fortunate around the world, to your fellow club members, to like-minded men and women of all ages and, just as important, to yourself! The projects Rotarians get involved in are incredibly fulfilling, worthwhile and rewarding - and there's plenty of fun involved. Watch the video below and be inspired.

We Are This Close

The historic worldwide campaign, spearheaded by Rotary International since 1985, to finally eradicate Polio across the world is still on track. The disease is now limited to just a few areas of Africa, India, Pakistan and Afghanistan. Our club along with many others around the world are still confident of completing the mamoth task. Many clubs have embarked on a crocus planting programme.

The Ruby Giant 'purple' crocus represents the dye colour dabbed on children's little 'pinkie' finger to indicate they have been immunised against polio as part of the campaign being carried out in these areas. Each year, starting in southern climes then progressing northwards, crocuses will be blooming from the end of January through February, culminating in the week around the annual "Rotary Day" on 23rd February. As well as raising awareness of the campaign, the first phase of the project raised over £1 million in 12 months, involved thousands of schools around the country and most of the 1,850 Rotary clubs across the UK.
