Rotary 'Thanks For Life - End Polio Now' Project.

Members of both the Howe of Fife and Cupar Rotary Clubs jointly took part in the RIBI ‘Thanks for Life – End Polio Now’ Project, from 22nd to 26th February 2010, with a week of activities organised around Rotary Day 2010 on 23rd. February.

The aim of this international initiative is to raise awareness of the Rotary movement and its world-wide campaign to eradicate polio; to fund-raise for the ‘Thanks for Life – End Polio Now’ inoculation programme; and to encourage others to join the Rotary movement.

A boost to the project has been the involvement of Tesco which helped the campaign by offering 377 of their largest UK stores throughout the week as a fund-raising and awareness-raising venues.  With Tesco, Cupar, as one of those stores, local Rotarians set up an information stand there on Saturday 27 February 2010. Members of both clubs took it in turns to maintain a presence at the Ceramic Experience, in the Bonnygate, Cupar, from 10.00am. to 4.00pm., for the same purposes.
