David was born in 1949 in the village of Windygates which makes him a Fifer through and through. He was educated at Kennoway Primary School, Buckhaven High School. On leaving school he wanted to persue a career in music in the early 60s and worked with several local bands. After realising that he would at some point have to get a real job he began his chosen career in Sales and Marketing. The music bug however stayed with him and he still gets much enjoyment from entertaining to this day. He took early retirement from Rapesco Group plc in 2008 where he held the post of Divisional Director for 23 years. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management and is currently working as a freelance Management Consultant. David joined the Rotary Club in 1992 and has held most offices within the club including President in 2000-1, the club's 10th Charter year. He went on to hold several offices in District 1010 including Community and Vocational Chairman, Assistant Governor, District Governor Nominee, District Governor Elect and became District Governor in 2008-9. During his year as Governor he also held the post of Liaison Governor on the Communications Committee of RIBI with a further year serving on that committee. He is married to Rita, they have two children Caroline and David and one granddaughter Victoria, they reside in Glenrothes.
