Paul was born in South Yorkshire in 1949. After secondary school he trained as a teacher, but in the event joined the Careers Service and spent twenty three years working in the West Riding of Yorkshire, the Midlands and the North East of England. In his mid-40s Paul re-trained for the Probation Service and operated as a main grade probation officer for fourteen years in County Durham. He worked mainly in the community, but undertook spells as a court officer and in a high security prison.
On retirement Paul re-located to Newburgh, to be nearer his immediate family. He is now making a gentle effort to get fit and to improve his culinary and computer skills. Paul joined the Rotary Club of the Howe of Fife in late 2011 and that has provided him with a new circle of friends, an enhanced social life and very importantly opportunites to make positive contributions to the lives of people locally, nationally and internationally.
