Music for Maggies

The Rotary Club of the Howe of Fife certainly hit the top notes raising 2500 pounds for Maggies Centres, thanks to a recent musical concert at Elmwood College, Cupar. Both Maggies Fife and Maggies Dundee benefited from the concert with each Centre receiving 1250.

This is the second concert that has been organised for Maggies by club member Ronnie Black. The capacity audience were entertained by Linda Ormiston and James Nicol accompanied by John Scrimger on piano.

Mhairi MacCallum, Maggies Community Fundraising Manager for Scotland, said 'It means a great deal to us that The Howe of Fife Rotary has been able to support Maggies in this way. We appreciate the support we receive from Rotary Clubs and the way in which they find time to do so many great things for charity.'

As President of the Club for 2007/2008 Cathy Adamson chose to support Maggies Centres like her predecessor Joan Potts. Maggies Centres are there for anyone who has been affected by cancer, either personally or through a family member or friend. The programme of support offers information, psychological and emotional support and practical advice which is all free of charge.

The Howe of Fife club meets every Tuesday at 6pm in the Village Inn, Pitlessie and warmly welcomes new members.
