Barnton Beech Tree bowlers were beaten 125-110 by Lloyds Hotel in the final of Pochins £1105 Steve Backhouse 6 a side floodlit knockout at Middlewich on Friday. Beech Tree had an handicap advantage of 3.
Lloyds, who had four individual winners, collected the trophy and £425, with £220 going to the runners up.

Lloyds Hotel retained the Pochins 6 a Side title when they beat Wharton Cons by 34 chalks in a one sided final.
Lloyds won five games to gain a victory of 115-81, they claimed the trophy and the £425 cheque.

Winners of the Pochins bowls clubs 24th annual £1105 Backhouse 6 a side trophy on Friday were Waterboys of Wem who beat Railway Hotel (Wigan) 150-129, in the final to collect the £425.
Man of the match was Shropshire county bowler Derek Wright.

The holders Waterboys of Wem beat knutsford Cons in the final of the Backhouse £1105 floodlit six a side tournament at Pochins on Friday.
After three games, Waterboys led by only three chalks, but their powerful last three overpowered Knutsford.
Man of the match Ian Price beat homester Mark Cookson 21-6 to earn a bottle of Whisky from the sponsor. The winners collected £425 and runners up recieved £220.
Prizes were presented by Shirley Backhouse.

POCHINS TROPHY FOR A.S.E
Northwich Guardian, 10th November.
Pochins £1380 Backhouse 6 a side trophy final at Middlewich was won by A.S.E of Altrincham, who beat Alsager Institute in the final 126-102.
A.S.E who won the first 5 games, collected the trophy and the £520 first prize. The runners up award was £280, while individual awards went to both finalists courtesy of the sponsors, who named Andy McGuigan as man of the match and winner of a bottle of Whisky.
This was the 26th season of the popular competition.
