GLYNN JUST MISSES OUT
Northwich Guardian, October 1st
Glynn Cookson was one step away from capping a wonderful season with another major trophy last weekend. Having reached the final of the Champion of Champions Cookson was unlucky to lose in the final to Staffordshire's Andy Petford.
The 4th time in six years that the final has been won by a Midlad player, Petford did well to fight off a brilliant Cookson come back which saw the All England champion recover from 13-5 down before Petford took the winning chalks, to make it 21-17.
