Simon Yould became the latest new name on the Stan Frith Mid Cheshire junior merit trophy on Thursday.
He beat Karl Bebbington 21-17 in the final at Lostock Social club, while Andy Hamman won the supplementary with a 21-19 victory over Tom Vickers.

Castle Private youngster Matt Hamman pipped club mate Alex Clare 21-19 in the final of the Mid Cheshire Junior merit to lift the Stan Frith trophy. no fewer than five Castle bowlers made up the last eight at Owley Wood last Tuesday.

CLARE TAKES JUNIOR TITLE

favourite Thomas Clare claimed the title at Owley Wood on Monday to add a Mid Cheshire bowling association title to his two Cheshire junior merit gongs.
The Winnington teenager overcame County team mate John Lightfoot (Slow & Easy) 21-9 in a one sided contest after he had been pushed all the way by Rudheath Private's Phil Nelson in the last four.
Lightfoot sent out another Park bowler, Josh Copnall, in the semi final encounter at the Weaverham club.
Stan Frith presented the trophies to the finalists.

Jack hazeldine is the latest rising star to win the Mid Cheshire junior merit.
The Coppenhall bowler, who reached the last eight in the Cheshire junior merit in June, lifted the Stan Frith trophy last Monday after defeating Owen Cookson (Wharton Rec) in the final at Castle Private.
