FRENCH NUCLEAR UMBRELLA: According to Macron, Nato is not doing its duty in protecting, defending the member countries, and is setting up an ALTERNATIVE to Nato. The question is will it be able to gather momentum, when even now its members are having difficulties in increasing the defence spendings demanded by Brussels, and are reeling under it? Weber, German MEP,would like take refuge under Macro' s umbrella. But Weber hasn' t cleared the matter about the Parisian Umbrella with neither Chancellor Scholz, nor with the Bundestag. Without their consent and blessings, this is pure speculation. Moreover, you can' t bypass Ramstein and Brussels in this important issue. In the past, the USA, as a leading Nato member stationed its Patriots units all over Germany and Europe. Suddenly, there is talk about a French Umbrella for Europe, thereby widenings its scope. This can be only regarded as an addition to the existing Nato systems, and not a separate entity. Why? France is within the Nato and not without. If this line of thinking goes on, why, the Scandinavians might their own defence systems. United we are strong but a break in the alliance means weakness, thus unfeasible.
