This would mean the macho would lose his face. The fact that he is responsible for the deaths of so many of his own countrymen, and well as so many Ukranians doesn't seem to bother him at all. Not even on Independence Day did he spare Ukraine. He sent cruise missiles and killed a good many people, mostly civilians. A heartless, arrogant oligarch and dictator who deserves no pity from the rest of the world. Every semblance of decency on the part of Russians has been erased by this nefarious act of aggression since half a year. Long live Ukraine. The warlord listens only to himself, even if he knows somewhere in the recesses of his sick mind that the path he has taken is wrong, for he is fighting not only against the Ukraine but also the western world which provides Ukraine military assistance. They have definitely more resources that Russia alone. It has become a fight against the logistics, the resources and the close distance of the European nations and their Armed Forces. Putin has started a large scale Recruitment Campaign for the Russian Army according to this BBC report. Russia appeals for new recruits to join Ukraine war effort. There is interesting commentary on the situation in Ukraine. Putin has been offering lots of money and perks to the new recruits because 70,000 to 80,000 Russian soldiers have lost their lives. He wants to make his Armed Forces 10 per cent bigger. A Russian mother describes the situation of her own son, 'They gave him a gun, now he' s dead.' No hope for peace under these circumstances at the moment. A long war into the cold winter lies ahead because Kremlin wants to bargain with the Nato countries by using oil and gas as a weapon. Austerity is on its way this winter. The governments have already started rationing loss of water in public places such as fountains, private swimming pools etc.
