An oversexed 17-year old Afghan refugee

Rapes and kills his victim brutally,

A pretty medical student from Freiburg.
Feel sorry for the student Maria L.
May her soul rest in peace.
Maria helped refugees in her spare time.

The DNA-evidence is established,

His age needs to be verified

The angry rightists have instrumentalised
And blown this issue out of proportion,
Though Germans commit more crimes than refugees
According to statistics.

An atmosphere akin to 9/11 is being created by populists:

when all Muslims are thought to be terrorists.
No they aren’t.

In every society there are black sheep
But that does not mean that all sheep are black.
One hopes the political anti-refugee wave will abate
And people begin to think like normal rational humans,
And not get carried away by this tsunami of hate
That is evident at the moment in our German society.

Maria L. was not the victim of our ‘Welcome Culture.’

Her family set an ethical precedent,

By asking people to donate

To the help-organisation their late daughter worked for.

That Maria’s death should start a progrom-like wave,

Would never have been Maria’s wish.
