Into the wounds of American society,

Enriched with anarchic humour.

It’s not hatred towards the white mainstream,

But a lyrical soundtrack towards progress.

I’m mad with anger!

I woke up yesterday

And wanted to see the world burning;

I’m fed up of seeing black men dying.

The voice of Black Lives Matter Movement

Is undoubtedly Michael Render,

Alias ‘Killer Mike.’

People in the streets are protesting

Against racism, racial profiling

And police brutalities.

In the post- George Floyd era,

Killer Mike and his sidekick El-P are pro-activists.

Mike gave an emotional speech

To the demonstrators in Atlanta.

Tears flowed from his eyes,

When he said:

I’m mad with anger!

I woke up yesterday

And wanted to see the world burning;

I’m fed up of seeing black men dying.

The answer cannot be aggression.

‘It is your duty,

Not to burn your own house,

‘cos of anger towards the enemy.’

These words and ‘RTJ4’ download,

Are reactions to the murder of George Floyd,

With emphasis on the continuing structural racism.

The lyrics are actually about Eric Garner,

An asthmatic Afro-American who was murdered

Under similar circumstances  in 2014,

At a police control in New York.

American hip-hop is getting political again.
