HEIMATPFLEGE: Auf ein Lied mit Satis Shroff

Geboren in Ghopa, Nepal

Beruf: Dozent.

Interessen: Autor, Künstler, Sänger und Humanist.

Chorerfahrung: Ja. Zuerst in einer britischen Schule und später beim Männergesangverein.

Zuletzt habe ich als Solist und Chormitglied in unserem Projektchor und am Brauchtumsabend gesungen. Die Lieder die wir im Chor singen verbinde ich mit meinem Zuhause.

Am liebsten singe ich wenn ich daheim die Wäsche bügle oder beim Wandern im Schwarzwald. Ich freue mich hier im schönen Dreisamtal und bewundere auch die Lorelei bei einer Rheinfahrt.

Unter der Dusche singe ich Elvis, Simon & Garfunkel, Sinatra, El Divo Lieder und „Weit,weit weg“ von Herbert von Goisern.

Inspiration: Zum singen inspiriert hat mich meine Mutter, meine ehemalige britische Gesangslehrerin, Nepals Minnesänger, Broadway, Bollywood und unser Kappler Chor.

Glücklich macht mich das Lied „I'm Still Standing“ von Elton John. Man sollte nie aufgeben.

Tränen kommen mir bei dem Lied „Durch's Wiesetaltal gang i“ aus dem badischen Schwarzwald. Dadurch lernte ich, dass „Badenke“ die Schlüsselblumen sind.

Das schönste Volkslied ist „Sonnenaufgang“ von Peter Cornelius.

Meine liebsten Kinderlieder sind „Humpty Dumpty“ und „Que Sera, Sera.“ Und Ritter Rost.

Gänsehaut bekomme ich bei dem Chorstück „Abendfrieden“ von Hildegard Eckhardt.

Einen Ohrwurm hatte ich zuletzt von „Nun ade, du mein lieb Heimatland.“

Ich würde gerne einmal zusammen singen mit  Stefanie Hertel.

Ohne Singen würde in meinem Leben etwas wichtiges fehlen.

Heimat: Heimat ist für mich das Dreisamtal und seine Menschen, die mir durch mein zu Hause, meine Familie, meine Nachbarn und meine Vereinskamaraden (MGV Freiburg-Kappel) vertraut sind. Hier stehe ich in Beziehung zu Menschen des eigenen Lebenskreises und Berufs. Es findet hier ein reger gedanklicher Austausch mit kreativen Künstlern wie Thomas Rees, Herbert Tombreul und den Literaturfreunden Ernst und Helene Ehemann (KKV-Kappel) statt. Der Kunst und Kulturverein ist auch eine Bereicherung für mich. Hier fühle ich mich geborgen und geschätzt, denn Heimat ist für mich viel mehr ein Gefühl von Geborgenheit anstatt einem Ort. Heimat ist für mich aber auch die Literatur, vor allem die Deutsche und Englische.  Ich spüre hier die heimatliche Geborgenheit und Seelenruhe und es freut mich sehr, dass wir in Kappel eine lebendige und innovative Vereins- und Bürgerkultur haben. Wir sind frei, demokratisch und menschlich in der Baden-Württembergischen Gesellschaft. Ich habe meiner Heimat Baden-Württemberg so vieles zu verdanken.

Satis proves that a poet, writer and academic in our days is foremost a humanist and environmentalist!
