Are we keeping our promises to God?  God takes vows very seriously, and He made covenant with Abraham, which gave us our Abrahamic Covenant, where He made Abraham the Father of many nations. In the book of Genesis chapter 26 we see that God makes an oath with Abraham.  Verse 2 of this chapter And the Lord appeared unto him, and said,  Go not down into Egypt;  dwell in the land which I will tell thee of: Verse 3: Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed,  and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father; Verse 4: And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; Verse 5: Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.  In this chapter God is reminding Isaac of the oath he made with Abraham his father.

In the book of Exodus Chapter 34:27 And the Lord said unto Moses, Write thou these words; for after the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel. Verse 28: And he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.  During the Passover  they were told by God that if they applied the blood over there doorposts the death angel would pass over and bring no harm to their homes. Exodus Chapter 12: 13 And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are; and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt. 14: And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the Lord throughout your generations; ye shall keep the feast by an ordinance for ever.

As I go further into this study I realized that  there were many covenants made throughout the entire Bible. When Rahab helped the spies that Joshua sent out to observe the land she let them down by a cord through the window for her house was upon the town wall, and she dwelt upon the wall. Amazingly this cord was scarlet red. Signifying the Blood of Jesus, relating back to the Passover as well.  A foreshadowing of Christ's love, Oh how powerful the blood of Jesus, Oh  the blood that sets men free!  the atoning power of the Blood, the Blood shed for you, and for me! Halleujah!

Today we have the power to be free set free from sin, set free from sickness, set free from poverty, set free from lack, all because of what Jesus did for us!  How important that we no longer are held captive by the law, but we are set free under a new and better covenant, the covenant of our Lord that died on the cross to set us free!
