Softly And Tenderly

Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling, calling for you and for me.  I remember as a very small child singing this song. I used to sit down at my Mother's big piano and play that song by ear. Now I never had piano lessons in my life but way back then it came to me naturally. Jesus wants us to come to Him in just that way, naturally, child like.  I looked up the word in my King James Bible yesterday on line for a Hebrew word in one of the Psalms and I'm going to try and remember how it was spelled.  It was the word Higgaion and it said it meant  a soft whisper, praise sometimes I think a soft whisper is what the Lord wants to convey to us that we don't have to come before Him with a loud voice to have Him hear us. The Bible says He hears our faintest cry. And even the Lord Himself, speaks to us in a very soft answer.  I then proceeded to look up the word Selah and it means to pause and meditate. We must surely meditate on His Words to get the full meaning.  I love it when the Lord will show us a passage of scripture that almost seems to leap off the page at us.  And then I know in my heart that there is something very special He wants to tell me. Softly and tenderly He's calling us every day.  Come join Me and commune with Me My Beloved.
