Singleness of Heart

 

 

Singleness of heart, this desperate heart, that no one knows, but You, oh God,

 

Let it not be divided, let it not take its own course, but solely given to You. You say

 

The heart is desperately wicked, who can know it? You, only You, Oh God, so take this

 

Heart of mine, and shape it, and mold it to Your ways, Oh God, this is my prayer for

 

Today.

 

 

We must have a singleness of heart, to serve You, we must be ready to live it like we

 

Are sold out to You, willing to stand, willing to fight, the good fight of faith, willing to die

 

To ourselves, having You, Oh God, as a singleness of heart, no turning back, no

 

Departing from the Truth of Your ways.

 

 

For even You, had a singleness of heart, to give what the Father gave, not waiting, nor

 

Delaying, but all You did was obeyed, no reputation, no honor, but a singleness of

 

Heart, You forever displayed, take me now, and brand this forever upon my heart, and

 

May it never depart, Oh this is my prayer, a singleness of heart, for You alone, I pray.
