Early I Rise

Early I rise to meet Thee, in the quietness, of my heart,
Early, my thoughts, are always upon You, and I realize, as
I am awakened, by Your hand, Your thoughts, Oh God, have never
left me, You've sustained me, in Your plan.

For the birds that softly sing, before the rising of the sun,
For the soft breeze, that rustles through the trees, for the
singing of the crickets, for the dew upon the grass, my thoughts,
Oh Lord, of You, alas.

Early thoughts of You, I give You, all my praise, as I realize,
my breath, in the night, has been sustained, Only You, Oh God,
can keep me, through the long hours, of the night, no shadows,
prevail, Oh God, for You, alone, are my Light.

My thoughts, and praise, to the Creator of my life,
Early I rise to greet Thee, for giving me beauty,
in the early morning hours, a passion to serve Thee,
and know Thee, to know Your plans for me, I love You,
and I'm content to be.
