CANDACE HOUSE What About The Rest Of Them? Thursday, October 4, 2007 - 6:31 AM As child in church I use to watch the old mothers in the church rock back and forth in the pews humming under their breath. These older Saints sat over to the left of the pulpit. The deacons and the elders sat over to the right. They use to call it the deacons corner and the mothers corner.The deacons would sit over to the side, looking important and talking with one another in between the Amens they would shout out. The mothers hardly ever talked to each other except when it was time for alter call. All they would do is subtly rock from side to side or back and forth. The rest rooms were at the front of the church on the side of the pulpit. If you could help it,you held your water until after the sermon. This particular Sunday I couldn't. When I got abreast of the mothers I noticed this wonderful vibration coming from the mother's corner. I could faintly hear humming and audible words. The power that was eminating from that corner was something that grabbed a hold of me and wouldn't let go. When I got back to my seat, I asked my mother "what are the mothers doing over there?" She replied "they are praying, those are the prayer warriors of the church." I remember thinking to myself I am going to be just like them when I grow up. When I was about 8 or 9 years old one of those old women grabbed me by the arm and said "the Lord is going to use you mightily near and far. He has set a hedge of protection around you and has opened the door for you to see into other realms. Do not be afraid of their faces for we have prayed for you. You will go to lands far and wide and devils will not be able to stop you. 100's of thousands will gather to hear what the Lord has to say through you." Of course as a child I didn't understand what she was saying but it bore witness in my spirit.Over the years I have had confirmation after confirmation that this was so. I now am experiencing through ministry and the schools I am building oversees, the begining of those prophesies. The point I want to get to is this;Intercessory prayer is not just for the mothers of the church. It is not just for a select number of people that meet before service to pray.It is not just for women but for men and children as well.All are called to intercede on behalf of others.It is our duty as Saints. We are are ALL called to war in the heavenlies until change comes about. We are called to point people through prayer to their destiny.Paul was perhaps the greatest example of a prayer warrior in the New Testament. He repeatedly prayed for others, especially the individual churches with whom he was working. In Ephesians 3:14-21, while Paul was in prison, he prays for the believers in the church at Ephesus: "For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge-that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen." I asked the question "what about the rest of them?" Are your prayers filled with requests for others? Or are so busy worrying about your four and no more? You have been given this ministry of intercession and through prayer you can be used by God to touch lives of people - those you have never met and those who are very close to you. Are you a prayer warrior?
