Presents Without Forgiveness?

Presents Without Forgiveness? Thursday, December 18, 2008 - 8:36 AM

How can we present a gift, if we hold unforgiveness in our hearts,
How can we pretend all is well, smile without, play the part, how is
it we can fill our stomachs, and feel no remorse, or pain, when someone
in the world is going without food, or clothes, without prosperity, or gain.

Jesus taught that we should forgive, so that the Father would forgive our sins,
He told how if we held aught against a brother, lay our gift at the alter, and
reconcile with one another, then present our gift, with love, no bitterness, or pain.

Jesus held compassion, in His heart, for those who were hungry, destitute,
Love for the widow, and the fatherless, He set the solitary in families, visited
the sick, healed the blind, and the lame, Oh Father, examine our hearts this day.

Christmas isn't about gifts, but the One True Gift, His Son, Christmas is the epitomy
of sacrificial love, sacrificial giving, cleanse my heart oh God, cleanse my soul, help
me not to be of this world, with it's technological glow, for the things of this world,
will grow strangely dim, as the Light of Your glory, unfolds.
