But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise;
and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things
which are mighty; I Corinthians 1:27

Verse 28: And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God
chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:

Verse 29: That no flesh should glory in his presence.

Verse 30: But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom,
and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

Verse 31: That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory
in the Lord.

We cannot stand in our own wisdom, or the wisdom of man. Paul said in I Corinthians
2:4&5  And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom,
but in demonstration of the Spirit, and of power; verse 5: That your faith should not
stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

This was one of the things that Jesus spoke about the teachers of the law they were taught by the commandments and traditions of man. They lived under the letter of the law, they spoke from their own wisdom, and were not empowered by God.

We must be empowered by God, we must not rest in our own wisdom, our own strength, for it is
only God that can give us the revelatory word, only God that can anoint us, and only God
that can appoint us! Amen
