BAD NEWS BROWN   Approx. 3.5 Hours  Good-Very Good Quality
"Bad News" Allen Coage is the ORIGINAL RATTLESNAKE in the WWF.  Nearly 10 years before Stone Cold Steve Austin, Bad News wrestled in the WWF with the same gimmick.  He was a heel that couldn't be trusted.  Even by other heels (as his Survivor Series matches and his short team with the Brooklyn Brawler showed).  He even beat up a WWF official long before Vince McMahon ever took his first Stone Cold Stunner.  Bad News was not only his gimmick, but he was well known outside of the ring as one of the toughest wrestlers in the business.  His gimmick in the late 80s was definitely before its time.  And when you look at the in-ring attitudes of guys like Austin and the Rock, remember that Bad News Brown did it first.

Raymond was especially upset at how the Brain Busters came in 1988 and were given the tag titles in less than a year, while he and Jacques had been with the company since since 1986. Raymond prettymuch retired from wrestling at this point, though he would soon return as an announcer for WWF TV. 4. Ted DiBiase v. Hogan (lumberjack match - The commentators discuss this match as if Hogan is still champion, but the actual match actually occurred after Hogan had lost the title. This match is relevant because the lumberjacks that Hogan had the most problems from were the Killer Bees working as heels! It’s impossible to tell whether these were the real Bees though, as they worked the entire match wearing their masks. This might have possibly been a try out by the WWF to see what the reaction would be to the Killer Bees turning heel. It never went any further than this match though. Philadelphia Spectrum 3/12/88)
