WATSON ROBERT c1712
This name appears at the top of the Watson family tree that I have inherited. The only clue to his period is "c1712". He is reputed to have had a son called Alexander who married Jean Lauder [see WATSON ALEXANDER AND JEAN] who in turn became parents of Euphemia Watson, James Watson (from whom I am descended), Robert Watson, Jean Watson and Helen (Nellie) Watson.
I do not know the name of the location of Robert senior nor his wife's name to be certain, but there is a record of the birth of a Robert Watson seaman in Leith - born 15th ??? baptised 22nd May 1712 to parents Alexander Watson and Mary Morison, his spouse.
Then sadly two years later, little Robert dies. This suggests that the date of "c1712" on the family tree is not relevant. These two records certainly appear to be the same family.
