This article covers the period from Culloden to that in Poland and Skirvings, Watsons and Kedslies. In it I attempt to trace a thread of political context in which our families live are motivated to act and move. The Skirvings that have been noted at the top of the family tree get me into an investigation of people of that name who were active in political resistance. Although not proved to be relatives they illustrate the political mood of the time and possible reasons why Watsons and Kedslies end up in Poland. The Skirving name does tie in at one point and is perpetuated in subsequent generations.

This article covers Thomas Boswell Watson and his nephew from when they leave Poland and head to the Far East. The result is the largest pharmaceutical and health care copany in the world.
