Halkirk to Thurso. 5:10:14.

It was good to get out on a walk with the Waybaggers after missing two of them because of bad weather.

We started the walk at Braal Castle Halkirk under a light shower of rain driven along by a brisk southerly wind. This soon cleared away and the day stayed good after that. There were only four of us on the walk but the company was good. This walk is best done before the winter rains start as the river is prone to flooding. There are some cosy little fishermens huts built along the river which must be very welcome if the weather turns nasty. I don't remember them the last time I did this walk.

It was a pleasant days walk along a nice stretch of Thurso river.
