The Borg to Dyke Cottage. 6th October 2013 

What a beautiful day it was for October. It was warm and dry and sunny when we parked the cars and headed off from The Borg on the  road down Strath Halladale.

We crossed the bridge over the Halladale river and walked to Dyke Cottage which is several kilometres further on. It is situated beside a burn in a quiet clearing in the forest. Instead of returning the same way we followed the burn which takes you back to Bunahoun. We last did this walk in October 2002 and I do not remember the first part of the path being as wet and boggy as it was now.

Further down, the burn goes through a deep gorge which is quite impressive before it enters the Halladale River. We finished the walk at the cemetery at Bunahoun before strolling back down the main road  to the cars.
