Previous Walks (4)Loch Hope to Whiten Head. 3rd July 2011 What a beautiful day it was with a clear blue sky and a warm sun.Our walk started on the path that follows the river Hope along its east side. It peters out after 1 kilometre and you are left trying to follow sheep tracks. I have done this walk before but had forgotten how many steep gullys there were on the way. Following a wrong track had us doing a bit of rock scrambling up the side of a gully. We reached Freisgill bothy where we had a short rest before tackling the final 3kms to Whiten Head. We met a solitary walker there who was surprised to meet other people in such a lonely place. We did the return journey in good time but my legs and knees were pretty knackered by the time we arrived back at the car. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
